My many stages for making a bowl.
The first thing is finding some wood.
Putting that wood on the trailer can be a challenge some time.
This is my different variety of woods.
It's fun when you get to build your dream.
Especially with a little help from my friends.
The start of a bowl begins with picking and cutting the wood.
The larger the piece the larger the bowl.
I find my center to mark my dimensions.
These bowl blanks are cut out with a chain saw.
Bowls are pre-shaped.
Some people see a mess, I see a job well done.
They are set a side to completely dry,
A lot of shaping and sanding will go into this bowl.
The bowls can take on a shape of there own.
Now we are getting close to completion.
I use a food safe finish on all the bowls.
The bowls will have a glossy or matte finish.
Spoons,, forks and spatulas are made from scraps..
This is a special oil holder for a client.
It was completed with a glossy finish.
Bowls and other items are placed on display.
